It’s been several months since I last posted a story. I mostly transfer blog posts from Medium, where I write on a site with large SEO reach. I may transfer more blog posts for a while as I catch up.
I am amazed at the potential reach of anything posted on the internet. Readers from 51 countries have found these blog pages, and the most read stories are totally unpredictable. I can’t explain why one gets picked up, forwarded, or published in South Africa, for example, while another languishes.
Writing is not only a means of communication, but a means to find out what the writer and reader think. It feels immediate, like Star Trek’s mind meld, for a moment. The miracle of instant feedback on Medium and here keeps me writing.
The experience of aging finds common cause on these pages. Most of us who are boomers have unexpected shifts with aches and pains and other accommodations for losses, as well as the joy of new discoveries. I find a peculiar community in this new road of aging, as we stumble at different points.
I am transitioning myself to a smaller physical world, recognizing that travel is more difficult. At the same time, I am trying to build my legacy and explore what I can through thinking and writing. Thanks for your continued presence.
